Детство и молодость в Троянове Аарон Давид Гордон родился 9 июня 1856 года в местечке Троянов (современная Житомирская область, Украина) в состоятельной еврейской семье. Позже Гордон самостоятельно выучил русский, немецкий и французский языки, получил широкое образование и год проучился в Вильне.
